Well I think it is pretty obvious that crochet is this summers biggest trend and one that will most likely stick around for a while, and with me opening my handmade shop of wonders I have been testing and trialling design out for the last couple of months. Constantly on the hunt for some fresh, cute and original I came across the really pretty idea of barefoot sandals.

Now ideally they are not that practical, BUT when did fashion ever stop at being practical aha. I guess they would look really lovely on holiday as a accessory maybe of an evening, or a beach party. A friend of mine suggested they would look lovely for a beach wedding which I LOVE the idea of. But what do you guys think? I took to Instagram with the same question and there were a few people for yay & nay. So I thought I would turn to the blog also, I would love to hear your thoughts?

So it had come round to that time of the year again where I was in desperate need of some new specs and just like the last two years I turned to the beloved Firmoo.com to sort me out. I honestly cannot fault Firmoo and their service, they have a marvellous selection of specs to choose from both male, female and unisex styles - so there is no doubt you will find a pair to suit you every time. Not only is there a wide selection to choose from but they also offer many different frames with alternative colours and designs so you can have real fun try to choosing which colour, pattern and details to go for.

This time round I went for a different shape to the usual classic Rayban style, choosing a more feminine  shape with slightly bigger frame that cat eye out a little in the corners. I also opted for a pink frame as I thought they would look sassy with my newly lilac toned hair.

Another great feature of Firmoo and also another reason I like to shop my glasses from them, is their 'virtual try-on service' which allows you to either upload or take a photo and try your chosen style on. Allowing you to get a good idea of what your frames will look like on your face, I have used this service even time I have picked a new pair, and the results once the frames arrive are perfect and exactly how I imagined them to be. Leaving me a very happy bunny.

You will need: Either an old top or dress making sure it is a fairly big size, also something that has some sort of pretty pattern or print on will make for a better turban, I used an old maxi dress I no longer wear. Oh and a pair of scissors.
Turban DIY / How to make a turban / Kirsty Wears BlogTurban DIY / How to make a turban / Kirsty Wears Blog
Step 1: Laying the piece of clothing on a flat surface, you want to cut along the bottom hem line removing the seamed edged. Then once you have removed the hem, cut again about 25cm up from there straight along the width of the piece of clothing.
Turban DIY / How to make a turban / Kirsty Wears Blog
Step 2: Now you should have a piece of material that is still seamed at both sides, however no longer has a hem but now two raw edges. Placing both hands into the piece of material and twist round creating a twisted centre in the middle.

Step 3: Once you have created the twist in the centre you will need to bring the right side over the the left side. Fitting the right side into the left, so the material is now overlapping each other and both seamed edges are now with each other on the same side.
Turban DIY / How to make a turban / Kirsty Wears Blog
Step 4: Now you should have one round circumference where your head will go, instead of two left and right sides.
Turban DIY / How to make a turban / Kirsty Wears BlogTurban DIY / How to make a turban / Kirsty Wears BlogTurban DIY / How to make a turban / Kirsty Wears Blog
Step 5: All you simply do now is take both hands and pull either side, exposing the twisted knot we created in step 2.

Step 6: Place on your head, tucking away any raw edges that are exposed and et voila, you have a sassy turban.

How easy was that, now we can all be turban queens and look fabulous and chic hehee. Hope you guys enjoyed my super quick DIY! xo

Going to make this a short n sweet blog post today two reason really one being Flickr is being a pain in the bottom and taking so long to upload photos and two I'm not really that happy with the picture outcomes therefore don't want to spend to long looking at them.

Yesterday I wore the two piece that I recently crocheted and my god it is so comfortable. Not only do you feel super cute prancing around in it, it is so cosy to wear aha cosy may not be perfect for Thailand's heat but I was only running errands into town before heading to the beach so was not in it for long.

Not sure yet if I will feature this style on my online shop in July, I am still designing some newbies that I want to trial first. But do let me know if you want to see something like this for sale?

Just a quick ootd post today as I'm currently nursing a food coma and having a sleepy sunday. Yesterday was my birthday and I can now announce that I am sadly 24, I know feel like I should be planning to have babies, get married and finding my perfect career - but instead I'm dying my hair pink, wearing hippy turbans and living amongst 100 balls of yarn which will soon be crochets (I hope). Can we just hold off being a responsible adult / doing grown up things till I'm 30, I just don't feel ready yet! Meh! that's enough age talk.

Thank you everyone who wished me a happy birthday on both Facebook and Instagram, I tried to reply to them all so hopefully I didn't miss anyone. It was a very rainy afternoon in the end, so we managed to only beach for the morning, followed by one of my favourite restaurants for lunch. I did attempt to do a little shopping but it was just too wet, so we headed to the cinema to see the new Avengers movie ( which was amazing btw if you love Marvel as I do you are in for a treat, best one yet I think ) the evening ended at another one of my favourite thai restaurants where I had the yummiest pumpkin curry. So all in all a pretty relaxed birthday in thailand with lots of delicious food involved and hanging out with the boy - doesn't get much better than that really and here is a cheesy birthday grin just to prove it aha..

Classic Sheffield Lady ℅ Daniel Wellington

Being a blogger you often find yourself wanting something another blogger has or find yourself liking and wearing a certain trend because it has become ridiculously popular across the whole blogging network and simply because it is everywhere. Which is completely normal and kind of the point of bloggers sharing with your their outfits and new buys anyways so it is all groovy. So getting to the point, there is in no doubt if you read blogs, follow bloggers or just an regular instagram browser you would of come across some one wearing a Daniel Wellington watch. DW has taken the socially interactive by storm and I don't think there is a day that goes by I don't see someone wearing and sharing their favourite DW.  So being a blogger an all I kind of feel like I'm part of the cool gang now with my own Classic Sheffield DW watch. I'm a sucker for watches any way always have had one in my life (or maybe five, ok ten) that I wear religiously and well of course I'm going to take up the opportunity to have another in my life. Who wouldn't?

Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Lady / Kirsty Wears BlogDaniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Lady / Kirsty Wears Blog

This DW baby is a Classic Sheffield Lady with Silver face and Black Leather strap, and it quite simply the prettiest of classic style watches I have ever seen."With leather darker than the deepest parts of the ocean, the Classic Sheffield was carefully designed to stand the test of time while maintaining its effortless beauty. This minimalistic piece proves that simple does not necessarily mean boring" -  I could not agree more with this little bio on their page, the design is so effortless but looks so lovely on your wrist and quite frankly go with any look, outfit or style, it is timeless. I'm in love with my DW so expect to see me wearing it everyday aha.

Do you have a favourite Daniel Wellington watch of your own, or have one on a wish list somewhere? Hold tight I have 15% OFF to treat you with, use the code 'kirstywears' at the checkout to get your discount today. Offer last until the 31st May.

Sharing with you my latest make, this super cute 60s inspired shorts and crop combo. Now that it is finished I am not sure on the colour Red, but I think it would look really nice in Black or maybe a more neutral colour like Cream or White even with the different coloured flowers still. What do you think? I cannot help but feel super sassy when prancing around wearing it, whilst wishing I was a sassy pin up girl.

Not sure whether this style will feature in my soon to be online shop, so all opinions and thoughts would be very much appreciated please, to help me decide?

Oh and I'll outfit post this soon too, so you can see it on. Speak soon homies!

Just over a month ago me, James and some friends that were visiting Thailand took a 4 day trip to go explore Phi Phi Island. Phi Phi island is a great place to go if you like exploring, snorkeling and boating. You can long boat to different tiny islands and beaches or you can choose to adventure out on your own with a rented canoe.

Whilst we were there we went of island hoping / snorkeling trip which stopped off at lots of different locations allowing you to snorkel and explore the mini beaches. Destinations such as Maya Bay aka 'The Beach' which was extremely popular as result of the film The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio, and Shark Bay which unfortunately had no sharks (or fortunately rather). A personal favourite of mine was Monkey Beach, which is home to lots of little beach monkeys waiting for visitors to come feed their tummies.

The island has many other trips and activities, such as cliff jumping (which we wish we had done but didn't end up having enough time), view point climbing to watch the sunset and lots of other water sport activities. It is a very touristy destination with a very hippy, traveller-Esq ambiance, with tiny cobbled paths which almost feel like a maze as exploring through.

Phi Phi is truly a mini paradise and words cannot beginning to describe how beautiful the island and everything surrounding is.  It is hands down the most beautifulest place I have ever visited, every corner was a picturesque postcard, with the clearest crystal blue sea I have ever seen and the whitest softest sandy beaches.
