Sharing with you my latest make, this super cute 60s inspired shorts and crop combo. Now that it is finished I am not sure on the colour Red, but I think it would look really nice in Black or maybe a more neutral colour like Cream or White even with the different coloured flowers still. What do you think? I cannot help but feel super sassy when prancing around wearing it, whilst wishing I was a sassy pin up girl.

Not sure whether this style will feature in my soon to be online shop, so all opinions and thoughts would be very much appreciated please, to help me decide?

Oh and I'll outfit post this soon too, so you can see it on. Speak soon homies!

Knitwear has to be my favourite thing about Autumn/Winter (that is as well as boots, coats and scarves. Ok I have a lot of favourite things). I think the thing I love about winter clothes so much is that everything you purchase is such a good investment, and your favourite pieces will see you through one winter and possibly more special if it is a good quality coat or jumper. So I guess I can admit that I spend more on my winter clothes than I do any other season because one it just so happens I can buy all my favourite things and two they are all good future investments.

So today is all about knitwear and I have chosen Zara for my favourite knitwear picks, because if you know me then you'll know I am a bit of a knitwear fanatic and have a love for a good jumper or two and Zara knitwear in my experience in exceptional for style, quality, price and care. Not only do they produce stunning pieces that look great on the hanger and self, they wash great too. I don't know about you but I have had a many past experiences of buying a knitted jumpers at £40+ then putting it through its first wash (at what is recommended on the label) to come back either shrunk, deformed, dull, or bobbly. There is nothing worse than pulling your clothes out the washing machine to find they are destroyed. But I have found that my Zara knits tend to hold up well.

Above are my top picks for this AW ranging from bold brights, to soft neutrals. Zara have got it all this season from chunky to soft fitted styles, fur textures and tie back details, to long lengths and cropped sleeves. I would love to hear what your favourites are and whether you love Zara knitwear too. p.s am I allowed to be a little sad that I won't be purchasing any new knitwear for a while.

So with London Fashion Week over for another season. I thought it would be a good time to put together a post sharing with you guys my full graduate collection. I studied BA Fashion Textile at Middlesex University, graduating last summer so this post is probably long overdue, however since leaving university I haven't really had time to reflect and look back on the last 3 years as I went straight into a temp job to save for travelling. However I am now here in Thailand with all the time in the world to reflect and well plan for the future.

I had studied fashion since GCSE it being the only subject I was interested in and well soon to learn my passion, I continued to study all the way to degree level. So when it came to creating and designing what was to be my graduate collection it was a very surreal time and I wanted to create a collection that I would love and always look back on and be proud. Specialising in knitwear I chose to knit my entire collection and believe me when I say my life and soul went into those 6 looks. I have never worked so hard before in my life and by the end I was psychically and emotionally exhausted. However it was all worth it and would I do it again. Most definitely it was the best experience of my life, when I look back I find it so hard to believe that I managed to do it, the sleepless nights and the early morning starts seriously it was all such a blur at the time, but it was the most fun I have ever had AND the feeling when you finish and see your work walk down the runway, my god you just crumble aha.  I cried both times.

My collection was inspired by Mexico's day of the dead celebrations, taking inspiration from Mexican shrines and sugar skulls. I'm obsessed with everything over sized and wanted to input that into my collection by designing and making garments that were fun to look at and fun to wear. By doing so everything just got bigger, brighter and with a lot more pompoms. My collection consisted of large floral crowns, pom pom beanies, heavily knitted jumpers and dresses oh and a piñata inspired  jumpsuit added to the mix also. I used materials that I thought were never possible and created silhouettes that I thought wouldn't be able to work, but they did and because of this my graduate collection will be something I'll look back on and continue to use to inspire me with future plans and  idea.

So here it is my life and soul, my graduate collection //

Thought I would put together something a little different with today's outfit post featuring this gorgeous cream floral printed jumpsuit from In Love with Fashion, by creating a look I'd wear during the daytime and also how I would wear this garment of an evening for a night out.

I always find it handy when I have key pieces in my wardrobe that I know I have the option of dressing down for a casual day look and dressing it up if I was after an outfit for a night out. Key pieces are particularly great when on a budget or looking for something to re vamp and inspire the wardrobe.

So I have put together two looks a day time and night time, I did actually wear this jumpsuit today and quickly took some 'evening look' pictures when I got back, thankfully before the rain. So today I chose to wear this jumpsuit with a causal jumper over the top giving the illusion of floral straight leg trousers, belting it at the waist and teaming it with my chunky heeled sandals from Primark, I love how the jumpsuit looks with a jumper over the top, and the jumpsuit is so comfy to wear it didn't even feel like I had a boned body under my jumper.

To the evening look, I think that the jumpsuit is a pretty stand alone piece to wear therefore I wouldn't add much to it when going for a night out. Here I have worn my simplest one strap heels so it doesn't take away from the jumpsuit and the length of the trouser leg. I find a less chunkier heel can make your legs appear longer and in my case skinner, although I do love a chunky heel they are just so easy to walk/dance in. Adding simple accessories with a delicate trinket necklace and a pink leather clutch bag, I also kept the belt at the waist as I felt it tied in the black shoes nicely, et viola. A simple yet stunning evening look. Now I just need somewhere and someone to take me on a night out.

Hope you liked this style of post and found it useful seeing the two contrasts for one garment, let me know if you do I would love to hear your feed back :)

Quick casual post for a lazy Monday wearing my skinnies and this super cosy knitted jumper from Chicnova. Super excited to have a week off work this week I plan to just chill, catch up with family and well just simply catch up with erm.. my life.

One thing about being a grown up and having a full time job is you never have time to do anything - it is rubbish and well I'm not ashamed to admit that I have had numerous tantrums over the last few months at how much I hate the 'real world' because it sucks & STUDENT LIFE RULED! Can I please just do another degree?

Graduate Collection - Pompom Jumper Kirsty Anderton 2013
Bloggers block. This feels strange I feel out of 'the loop' with my own blog, it has been 5 months since I last posted and believe me there have been numerous attempts to start blogging again which resulted in numerous fails. I really did not think it was going to be this hard to get back into but believe me I am feeling utterly lost right now. My blog came to a halt towards the last few months of university and if you read my blog you may of notice it was slowing down months before then too. The work load just got too much and I practically spent most of my days and nights in the knit studio, so my hobbies and social life pretty much went out the window for the quite a while,  but it was all worth it in the end! So well I guess this is me now trying to break the ice and rekindle my love for my blog and start reading all my favourites again. I have yet to take some outfit snaps which honestly I'm finding really hard I feel super self conscious at the moment probably because I just haven't done it for so long, but I do have a few bits I am looking forward to blogging so hopefully I'll get back into the swing of it soon. Looking forward to getting back into the world of blogging, speak soon guys xo
